Evidently hot buttered rum has been a thing for a significant long time, however I'd never known about it until a month ago when I spotted it on an informal breakfast menu. Clearly, I requested it, and was immediately shipped directly to winter mixed drink paradise. Spread? In a refreshment?! Sign. Me. Up.

Hot buttered rum – if it's also new to you – is actually what it seems like. It's a warm and comfortable mixed drink with genuine margarine blended right in. On the off chance that you feel that sounds overwhelming and kinda gross, reconsider. Despite the fact that I can't actually drink more than one of these, it's in reality a lot lighter than it sounds. It's practically similar to tasting on boozy, spiced, liquified toffee. On the off chance that that portrayal doesn't make your mouth water,

This great beverage starts with plain old water. Believe it or not, simply water. Hydration! If we somehow managed to utilize straight rum it would be waaay excessively extreme. We'll improve it up with dull dark colored sugar for an extra caramelly, molassesey punch. Next, we'll include a few flavors.

I use cinnamon, allspice, cloves and naturally ground nutmeg – however don't go rushing to the store to get them in the event that you don't have them all available. Use what you have in your flavor bureau (except if they're old – at that point you should think about supplanting them) and adjust the recipe to suit your needs. This is about simple drinking.
